Digital Tachograph training in separated into a number of categories:

  • The course will encompass the use and hands on approach to the latest Siemens Digital Tachograph training machine.

Basic Modules Introduction:

  • Legislation
  • The System (an overview)
  • Smart Cards
  • Data Storage

As more vehicles are leaving our roads with the traditional analogue tachograph and with all new vehicles being standard fitted with digital tachographs these courses benefit all levels.

Funding may be available under the government NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) programme.

Digital Tachograph

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Drivers

  • Calibration Centres

Correct Operation:

  • Operating Controls and Menus
  • The Display
  • Printers
  • UTC and Local Time

Specialised Modules Drivers:

  • Covering Normal Work Routines (Short of Staff, On Road End of Shift)
  • Special Questions (Crossing Borders, Checks and Controls, What to do if?)

Fleet Management:

  • Changing to the New System
  • Organising Aids to Assist Drivers/Staff
  • Combining Analogue and Digital Tachographs

Course durations range from ½ day introduction to a 4 day advanced training course covering staff and operators at all levels.

Standard Courses:

  • ½ day introduction aimed at all staff.
  • 1 day drivers or managers course
  • 2 day drivers or managers advanced course
